Cinquecento Painting - Christ And The Samaritan Woman At The Well by Paolo Veronese
John 4: 11
(I) ..don’t have a bucket and the well is deep.
Needs
Weariness
Thirst
Undredgeable certainties
A reach beyond a grasp
The figment of dreams
Clattering down a hopeful hole
We don’t have what it takes
To quench our insatiable tastes
Our greeds bore deep
Way beyond our needs
At a wellside awaiting release
Diurnal desires are
A fettered chore
A burdened bucket
At a wellside waiting
The well is deep
It cannot slake
Our thirst or fill
Our need
Or make
Us whole
Ask
Go
Bring
Come
Drink
Forever
Worship
The bucket still stands
Empty
Wellside waiting
Still
