The liberty to choose is one of the greatest gifts we can give one another. It is one of the great gifts of God to us. We did not need to be bestowed this. We are by nature creaturely. A creation does not need to choose. Like a slave cannot choose. But choice is one of the least appreciated and most widely abused gifts given to us. It is also one of the things we deny each other, even those we love. In permitting considered choice, we give love. In observing the choice, we see love. The converse of this when we deny choice, we subjugate, control, manipulate and coerce. That is not love. Satan always leaves us with a derivation – “ I have no other choice other than…”. That stiled pathway often leads us to the edge of a precipice overlooking death and destruction. We always have a choice. We can always choose God.
